BIO
The Darcys are an LA-based alternative duo originally from Toronto, Canada. Comprised of Jason Couse and Wes Marskell, the band is celebrated for their genre-bending sound that fuses rock, pop, and electronic elements. In a musical landscape that often rewards predictability, The Darcys stand out as innovators — pairing infectious melodies with bold, forward-thinking production. Each release pushes boundaries, creating a sonic world as unpredictable as it is captivating.
Their catalog spans critically acclaimed works including Warring (2014), the crossover breakthrough Centerfold (2016), the cinematic Fear & Loneliness (2020), and a full-length reimagining of Steely Dan’s AJA (2012). Warring earned the band a JUNO Award nomination and a Polaris Music Prize shortlist spot, cementing their reputation for blending ambitious concepts with irresistible hooks.
In 2018, the duo launched their own label, The Darcys Inc. Records, a DIY venture that’s gone on to dominate airwaves across North America. Singles like Running For The Hills (Top 5 at Rock Radio), Just Here with My Friends, Washed Away, and Trouble Found Me have become alt-radio staples, helping the label rank as the 8th most-played on Canadian alternative rock radio in 2023.
Their latest album, Rendering Feelings (2024), marks a bold new chapter — lush, emotional, and unflinchingly honest. It explores love, identity, technology, and the modern condition through a mix of intimate ballads and pulsing, euphoric anthems. With Rendering Feelings, The Darcys double down on their commitment to making immersive, cinematic music — proving once again that evolution is at the heart of their artistry.
